What we offer you

Purley Bury Tennis Club is between Purley Bury Avenue and Brancaster Lane, next to bowls and croquet clubs.

We offer doubles, singles and mixed play around the year (with tennis balls supplied) on five floodlit hardcourts. There are a practice wall, tennis pavilion with seating overlooking play, bar, entertainments room, tea room, changing rooms and showers, and a very enjoyable social calendar.

Racket restringing and tennis clothing and equipment are available at the coaches' office. There is a small wet weather pavilion for juniors.

NOTES
Home league matches are usually played on Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoon.
Floodlit play on winter evenings - pay through tokens, £2 a court for each half hour.

Membership Adult, adult mid-week, starter, improver, young person, junior, mini-tennis, family (discounts) and social.

Club sessions at the weekend are on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, mid-week on Monday and Thursday evenings, with a ladies’ group on Wednesday morning and a men’s group on Thursday morning. In between are many opportunities for made-up fours or singles.

Matches: Mens, ladies and mixed teams in the Surrey leagues, plus Juniors and friendlies

Competitions - for seniors, the annual club singles, doubles and mixed tournaments, and a Plate event; for juniors, regular tournaments across different age groups.

Coaching is well-structured throughout the week at Purley Bury for both juniors and seniors.

Juniors are well catered for from as young as four when they are entertained on court with mini-tennis fun games and short tennis.  When Juniors are of a sufficient standard they are encouraged to play with Seniors. Juniors have a regular session on Friday evenings from 5pm. Daytime events arranged during school holidays.

Social - bar open:
Mondays and Wednesdays 8.15 - 11pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays 8.45 - 11pm
(but usually NOT OPEN if bad weather prevents play) and Sundays 12 - 2pm
Drinks are at ‘club prices’ and darts, pool and TV are available, plus a full social calendar including quiz nights, theme events and BBQs.
