Around 30 members were present for the centenary AGM held on Wednesday 9th November 2011.

Chairman Alan Browne welcomed everyone. Apologies for absence were received from Ann Allison, Graham Potton, Maddie Dunn, Alasdair Horrisford and Sandra Vaughan.

No minutes to refer to from previous AGM.

Chairman’s report

Alan thanked those members who contribute to the success of the club.

He thanked the following departing committee members:

Steve Cooke who has done a tremendous job as membership secretary and leaves with our records up to date. He will assist Josephine Ghodhbani who takes over the role.

Alastair Horsford who may rejoin at a later date subject to work commitments.

Amy Love who will remain as ladies captain.

Cheryl Jack who covered as secretary for a short time.

New members John Pyndiah (maintenance), Chere Palmer (social) and Josephine Ghodhbani (club secretary and membership secretary) have all been co-opted to the committee this year.

Thanks to Club Captain John Lowe for organising the tournaments and Wimbledon draw.

As Treasurer Graham Potton has kept us appraised of fiscal matters.

Thanks to Matt Sorenson for all his work with publicity and the labour for the shed!

Jenny, June and John Friar for their help with the junior functions and the barbeques.

Mark Love who deals with some club issues when on site such as phone calls and deliveries.

Peter Ward for the junior committee; Mike Goodwin for the friendly matches; Andy Adams for men’s match practice.

Improvements have been made to the bar this year plus a ramp access and a shed for storage.

The following plans will be attempted before the start of next season:

* Refurbish changing rooms and install a disabled WC.

* Install new kitchen units along right hand wall and remove island unit.

* Patio area between clubroom and coaching centre.

* Improvements to bar and possibly upgrade furniture.

Lease is due to expire in 2019 and there is no renewal clause. AB hopes to meet with Christopher Lewis, a director of Brancaster Ground Company Ltd, our landlords, to discuss our future plans.

Membership stands at 385, holding up well against last year’s total of 407. Full adult members up by 7.

Subs will be increased by 4% next year. Membership cards will cease and PDF e mail receipts will be issued instead. Racquet bands will also be introduced.

The top hut has been used by Joel Reeves for his classes. This will probably not continue and it will revert to being used by juniors in wet weather.

Thank you to all members who have purchased ball tickets for 26th Nov.
